Stratford is the only town in Stratford District, it is in the heart of the Taranaki Region, North Island New Zealand, also the gateway to Mount Taranaki/Egmont.
The Stratford District has a population of 9,230, (June 2015 estimate).
Stratford’s main industry is dairying, a high level of rainfall, makes for some of the best dairy farming country in New Zealand.
Stratford is also known for its nationally-renowned speedway, racecourse and golf course.
It is my birth town, have lived there some sixty years.
