Friday Fictioneers – Welcome Home

Each week,  Rochelle Wisoff-Fields Hosts Friday Fictioneers where we’re challenged to write a piece of flash fiction in 100 words, more or less, based on the picture below.

Welcome Home

Walking through the bush, searching for memories that had haunted me for some sixty years, I came across a stone shack with the door wide open as if it was welcoming me back home.

Just as I was about to enter the door a figure appeared scaring me half to death.

It screamed at me and started dancing around the room pointing over to the corner, all I could see was a bundle of dried out old bones.

I glanced sideways to try and see what it was that had frightened and shrieked at me, I could see nothing.

I think I will abandon the mission and go back to dreaming.
