Weekly Tanka Prompt Challenge – Week 6 – Water & Stream
Simple Guidelines.
Take the two words “Water & Stream” and write a Tanka Poetry.
Tanka consists of five units, usually with the following pattern of – 5-7-5-7-7 which is syllables.
This is for the readers that haven’t tried writing a Tanka and don’t understand how to write one.
Line 1 – 5 syllables, Line 2 – 7 syllables, Line 3 – 5 syllables, Line 4 – 7 syllables, Line 5 – 7 syllables.
What is a syllable?
- a unit of pronunciation having one vowel sound, with or without surrounding consonants, forming the whole or a part of a word; for example, there are two syllables in water and three in inferno.
- You can use the picture above , which will give you a vision using the words
