Carpe Diem #1142 Japan – Day 2 – Honshu, the “main island”
View of Shinjuku skyscrapers and Mount Fuji as seen from the Bunkyo Civic Center, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.
The month of February I’m studying Japan, the land of the rising sun, mother of haiku.
We are on our journey, today it’s about Tokyo on the so-called “main Island” Honshu.
30 days of tanka poems – Japan – Honshu – Day 2
living in Japan
one hundred twenty-seven million
happy place rejoice
so many people to home
big skyscrapers everywhere
Little info
Tokyo is really a town of the world.
If we look back in time, we see a very different country.
Japan was a very closed country several centuries ago.
It was inhabited far back in time.
First signs of life in Japan are known from the Paleolithic is the earliest period of the Stone Age.
The first written mention of Japan is in Chinese history texts from the 1st century AD.
