September 2017 Day 13

What color were the eyes of your first date?

My one and only date was my husband and his eyes are blue.

Interesting Information about Blue Eyes

A 2002 study found that the prevalence of blue eye color among the white population in the United States to be 33.8% for those born from 1936 through 1951.

Compared with 57.4 percent for those born from 1899 through 1905.

As of 2006, one out of every six people, or 16.6% of the total population, and 22.3% of whites have blue eyes.

Blue eyes are continuing to become less common among American children

  1. This was an interesting post, Elsie. Yours always are so informative. I think as certain population groups grow in this country, there will be fewer and fewer blue-eyed people until all we have is brown eyes. Its a good thing I like brown eyes, too. haha Mine are brown and our youngest son has very, very dark, almost black, brown eyes. I call him my “selkie”. 🙂 Our oldest son and oldest daughter have blue eyes and our youngest daughter has hazel eyes.

Your husband’s eyes are a very nice shade of blue.

Thanks for joining in the challenge. Have a blessed day.
