September 2017 – Day 22
Did you have chores when you were a kid? What were they? What did you think about having chores? What was your least favorite chore? Is it still?
Yes, I was brought up with work (Chores) as long as I can remember.
At the age of 12, I was helping my father doing housework, like the washing and cleaning and cooking in the house, as my mother was in Palmerston North hospital for six weeks in 1952, when she came home she didn’t do much work. I still never found out why she was there other than having treatment for a goiter.
Work never worried me I was quite happy doing anything as I never could sit still for very long, as the years went by I realized as long as I was working I didn’t get growl at for being lazy.
At the age of seventeen and a half, I spent a month in the hospital which I think was a nervous breakdown, it was never found out what was wrong with me, even after many tests like Lumber Puncture (Spine tap to get fluid for a lab test).
One year later I ran away from home, I will be writing a follow-up about this time in my life very soon, I’m now ready to share it.
