Weekend Writing Prompt #46 – Patience

Thank you, Sammi Cox, for the prompt – Patience

Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below.

Challenge:

Prose Challenge – Write a fable on the theme of patience.

Poetry Challenge – Write a haiku inspired by the word prompt.

crawling so slowly
thrush watching from above
patience rewarded

I love listening to thrushes singing at the break of dawn.

Have you ever seen a thrush remove a snail from its shell on concrete?

They actually pick it up and keep banging it until they can remove it from the shell, amazing sight.

    • They sure are clever, sometimes I think they have more sense than some humans, after all, who would have shown them how to get a snail out of their shell.
Hope you are having a great weekend.

  1. What a beautiful sound, Elsie. I don’t know if we have them in our area; I can’t recall hearing their song!
Loved your Haiku; it was so visual; I could see the little Thrush, and then he got his reward.
    No, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that sight…
Hope you had a good weekend.. 🙂

  2. I love to hear all the different bird songs! I had no idea they ate snails, or could crack them open. (poor snail) … nice poem, and yes, it would take patience. 🙂
