#A to Z Challenge – 10 April 2018 – I is for Iris – a Haibun
#atozchallenge – Nature & Outdoors Theme
Bearded Iris, there are many shades of blue, purple and even burgundy, a flower of beauty nature at its best. I have many in the garden, but sad their flowering time is so short.
Irises have other uses besides their beauty, the extraction of essential oils from the rhizome (orris root) and are used in perfume and medicine and even some Gin brands, so they have other uses besides the beauty of the flower. Be aware that iris rhizomes can be toxic, so be careful how you use it.

That photo is such beautiful and you have offset the sheerness of the flower against the darker foliage. It’s pure lights indeed enriches the soul.
