October Poetry Writing Month #OctPoWriMo!

Theme for 2018 is a one lined quote that gives me a idea for the Poem – Quotes are copied from Goodreads.com – tag poetry.

“I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.” ― William Shakespeare

I like
sitting down
reading poetry
it’s the place I willingly love to be.
Poetry is my passion in retirement.
If it’s wasted
it’s my time
to waste.

Double Tetractys A decastich (10-line stanza) with an emphasis on the syllabic count of each line. Syllabic count: 1-2-3-4-10-10-4-3-2-1 It should express a complete thought and may be on any theme and express any mood. Rhyme is optional.

  2. Your poem compliment’s Shakespeare’s quote so well, but time spent reading is never time wasted. 🙂

I’m exploring new poetry forms for my OctPoWriMo. Definitely will give double tetractys a try.
